Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino ; Las Vegas As one of the pit stops of our US tour, we travelled to Las Vegas and stayed at the Mandalay Bay for 3 days 2 nights from 24 March to 26 March, 2017. The service and the amenities provided at the resort are great along with a wide selection of world renowned restaurants, bars, lounges, and live music shows. With luck on our side, the resort hosted the “Michael Jackson One live show by Cieque du Soleil” during our stay. Least to say, it was quite an an electrifying show featuring fusion of acrobatics, dance and visuals reflecting the dyananic showmanship and spirit of Michael Jackson. One of the deadliest mass shootings in modern US history which occurred on Oct 1, 2017 here at the Mandalay Bay resort. The gunman open fired from his suite on the 32/F at the crowd during a music festival, killing at least 58 and injured more than 800 people. It’s sad to think about this tragic event occurring at the exact premises where my wife and I were present at just 6 months earlier. So here’s a throwback with some photos and clips of our stay at Las Vegas as well as remembering the tragic occurrence and the poor victims who lost their lives 4 and half years ago

Come Together was first introduced into the studio on July 21, 1969 during a 2:30 pm session. According to George Harrison, “'Come Together' was one of the last ones to be recorded [...] John was in an accident, so he was off for a period of time. Then when we got back, which was only a week or so before we finished the album, we did this one." Eight takes of Come Together were recorded on this day onto a four track tape machine. Each of the four tracks on the machine were filled by McCartney on bass (track one), Harrison on guitar (track two), Starr on drums (track three), and Lennon's vocals, hand clapping, and tambourine (track four) Take eight was complete, but take six was deemed the best. The session ended at 9:30 pm. After the group left, the engineers made a copy of take six and put it into an eight track machine for further overdubs. This whole process was completed within a half-hour. Multiple overdubs were recorded over the following days (vocals, handclaps, electric piano, etc...). Harrison recorded the guitar solos were recorded on July 29th. Recording work for the song finished on July 30th. THE GUITAR PARTS: Its a super iconic riff, although theres been debate over who played it. Geoff Emerick and Mark Lewisohn both say that Harrison played rhythm guitar on this track; however McCartney has said that he remembers Lennon playing guitar on the song. Whatever the case may be, its a nice and easy guitar part. Either one of them could've done it. I used my Casino for the rhythm guitar part. It sounded a lot closer to the record to me rather than the SG. While this part is incredibly uncomplicated, take note of these few things... - At 3:07, there seems to be an extra "D" note during the main riff. This is only done once and its right there - During the outro guitar solo, the rhythm changes at 3:25 to a different pattern. It changes again at 3:39 and then goes back to the previous pattern at 4:01. - Pay attention to the pickup changes. The neck pickup is used for the verses and the bridge pickup is used for the choruses/bridge & solo. I had the volume at about 4 on the neck pickup and 7 on the bridge pickup. Harrison most likely played his 1957 Gibson Les Paul named "Lucy" for the lead work. At 2:14, the higher harmony solo is shown in the middle of the screen and the lower harmony solo is shown at the bottom. After the solo, Harrison does a slide on the G string from the 7th to the 14th fret. The fills at 3:03 utilized a volume pedal. I don’t have one so I automated the volume to simulate the swell effect you'd get with a pedal. This fill can be played with the G and B string on the 10th fret. Thats about it!
