Hablar de los hermanos Maserati es evocar los inicios del automovilismo deportivo italiano en los albores del siglo XX. Una vez cumplido el compromiso, los hermanos Maserati decidieron unir nuevamente sus fuerzas y en Octubre de 1947 constituyeron una nueva sociedad con la denominación de OSCA (Oficien Specializzate Construzioni Automobili). Con las ideas más claras, renunciaron de momento a construir coches de Gran Premio y centrarse en proyectar un vehículo de cilindrada media para competir en la categoría sport. Aquí es donde pasa a primer plano el protagonista de nuestra elección, el OSCA MT4. Si en un principio le instalaron un sencillo cuatro cilindros con un solo arbol de levas, pronto lo evolucionaron instalándole una nueva culata biarbol que hicieron del pequeño vehículo sport un potencial ganador dentro de las pequeñas cilindradas. Conducido por pilotos rapidísimos: Villoresi, Fagioli, Cabianca, Bonetto, Portago, Moss… el MT4 fue dominador dentro de su categoría en las más importantes carreras del momento: Mil Millas, Targa Florio, Panamericana, Le Mans o Sebring. El vehículo reproducido en esta ocasión por Slot Classic corresponde al chasis # 1142, cuyo primer propietario fue Giulio Cabianca. En el cuadro a continuación reproducimos su historial deportivo. Alfonso de Portago, segundo propietario del coche, cambió el color rojo inicial por su preferido negro con la bandera española en franja central de adelante hacia atrás. Como sus resultados con el pequeño Sport no fueron del todo satisfactorios para sus aspiraciones en la Carrera Panamericana del 54 se inscribió con un Ferrari 750 Monza, prestando o regalando según las diferentes versiones, el pequeño Sport a su amigo argentino Ernesto Mieres, que es la preciosa decoración que veis en el video y que la marca asturiana lanzó en el año 2011, agotándose al poco tiempo de su lanzamiento.
